power flushing
There are a number of symptoms to look out for that may indicate the need of a power flush.
The most common ones are as follows:
- Poor or lack of any hot water
- Cold spots on your radiators
- Boiler or pump noise/failure
- Rust and sludge in the system
- System is slow to warm up and provides inadequate heat
A power flushing pumping unit (Kamco Clearflow®) in conjunction with a magnetic power flushing filter, is used to move a high volume of water and chemical solution mix around the faulty heating and hot water system at a safely selected pressure. The pump is either connected to the heating system circulation pump valves, to the pipe work of a faulty radiator or to the pump head within a combination boiler.
The powerful flow of the pumping unit, in conjunction with the carefully selected chemical mix work together to help dislodge and move blockages such as rust and corrosion which have a tendency to resist the old-style cold hose flushing technique.
During the process, radiators are individually flushed to maximize the CLEARFLOW® pumps efectiveness without removing them from the system.
It is vital to power flush a heating system immediately before fitting a new boiler to an existing system, to prevent possible future problems as the high efficiency and compactness of modern boilers, developed to minimize fuel costs and pollution and means that they are more susceptible to problems caused by sluge and debris in the system water.
Once the system has been cleaned, an inhibitor is added to provent the build up of corrosion and the formation of sluge then you will receive a certification showing the date the power flush has been carried out and stating the readings we have taken before and after of the condition of the system which is done using a total dissolvable solid tester (T.D.S).
